Can a holiday park site owner charge me for keeping a copy of my insurance policy?
My holiday park site owner wants to charge me for keeping a copy of my insurance policy and an up-to-date insurance certificate. I have looked at my Licence Agreement for a Holiday Caravan Pitch and there is absolutely no requirement for me to insure the holiday caravan with the park site owner. Where do I stand?
Can the council levy council tax on a site licensed as a holiday site?
I own a leisure lodge on a 12-month site. One of my neighbours has used his lodge as a main home and has received a demand for two years council tax. He paid up. We understand this will apply to all! Can you advise:
n Can the council levy council tax on a site licensed as a holiday site?
n If council tax is levied does this change the site from holiday to residential status?
We currently pay £1,600 pa service fee and a share of the business rate levied on the site. Four of the eight lodges on the site are used as main homes.
How binding are my new static holiday caravan park rules?
I have just been given the latest set of park rules for my static holiday caravan. They include:
Transfer fee payable to the park even if I sell my caravan privately;
Written permission required from the park if I sell my own caravan;
Maximum age of caravan sold to stay on site is 15 years old;
No tradesmen of any kind without permission of the park;
Administration fee to the park of £25 if I arrange my own insurance;
Gas bottles only to be bought from the park.
How legally binding are they?
