An exciting new timber clad leisure lodge
Questions to ask yourself
1. How many people will be regularly staying in your holiday home?
2. Do you want a cheaper holiday home you can replace in a few years, or a longer lasting one, which will be more expensive?
3. New or secondhand ? is that important to you?
4. How much can you spend? Look for something cheaper than your top price and be prepared to go to your maximum if you are tempted.
5. Is size more important than quality?
6. Will you visit your leisure home in the cooler months? Will you need central heating/double glazing/extra insulation?
7. Do you want an aluminium-clad model or wood-clad? Bear in mind that aluminium is not always cheaper.
8. What are your must-haves? A fridge-freezer, lots of storage, freestanding furniture are some of the favourites.
9. Do you have any pet hates you have to avoid? For example, you may loathe doors which don't stay closed, hearing the TV in the next holiday home (because of poor insulation) or twin beds only big enough for a teddy bear.
10. What style will you go for? Some like it plain, others fancy. Buyers of one sort crave tradition, another group want modernity.
