Luxury lodges for sale at top Yorkshire park

There was a historical theme to the opening of the latest phase of Hollicarrs holiday lodge park in Escrick, near York, on September 21.

Rupert Fairfax opened Harts’ Nook, as part of an English Civil-War themed day at Escrick Park. Around 250 people heard how Mr Fairfax’s ancestor, General ‘Black Tom’

Fairfax, met with the other generals in May 1644 at Escrick Park to monitor progress of the siege of York, which led to the decisive battle of Marston Moor. The event also raised £226.14 for Macmillan Cancer Support.
