160 job cuts as OMAR Homes goes into administration

The Directors of OMAR Homes Limited has placed the company into administration, after the company was unable to meet the demands of creditors.
The park home, lodge and holiday home manufacturer blames the current economic crisis for the company's situation. Following advice that urgent protection was essential, OMAR Homes placed an administration order in the High Court in London on 2 March 2009.
Administrator, Jeremy Woodside of Tenon Recovery, said:
“We propose to continue to trade, albeit on a smaller scale, while seeking a
buyer, thereby potentially preserving local jobs. We have had a number of
serious enquiries and are hopeful of a sale in the coming weeks."
On Tuesday, 3 March, 2009 Omar Homes Limited made 160 people redundant. The
company is still running with 40 staff and is in negotiations with potential
buyers to re-employ staff.
Further updates will be issued to the media as appropriate.
